For many leaders and business owners, the new year is a new beginning. It’s an opportunity to press pause, reflect, analyze the entire foundation and reset.
As far as we are concerned, it’s especially an opportunity of rethinking communications before getting back into action and executing.
What if we slowed down? What if we did less but better?
Here are some questions, ideas and reading suggestions from our blog to gently start building, optimizing or rethinking your communications this year, the next, or anytime really.
1. Communicate more responsibly and inclusively
What impact would you like your organization to have on society? What type of workplace do you aspire to offer your team members?
Consider the following to help you reconnect to your foundations and values.
- Reducing digital pollution through simple gestures
- Getting to know the sustainable development and social responsibility certifications available to organizations
- Adopting inclusive practices for your written communications
2. Humanize your communications
Shedding light on those evolving in the shadow of your company through storytelling will make your mission sound more authentic and inspiring.
Tips:
- Source inspiration from organizations that use brand storytelling
- Select communication channels to use and maintain based on your resources (and not trends)
Are you aware of your discoverability potential?
The concept of discoverability is the potential for an organization to be easily found online by people browsing. It includes your presence on different digital platforms such as search engines, digital encyclopedias, social media and websites.
3. Think mindful leadership
An organization’s success is as good as the well-being of its leaders and staff. Listening, bringing people together and inspiring are key to making a difference in a team.
Tips:
- Delegate corporate communications to gain efficiencies and improve communications internally
- Improve your speaking skills to amplify your leadership communication
- Notice the diversity of your team, including generational diversity
4. Consolidate your internal communication structure
Reviewing your internal communication processes has many benefits in the long run and can eliminate frictions experienced by your team on a daily basis.
Tips:
- Establish (or update) your communication policy to better structure processes
- Adopt an inclusive communication model through EDI (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion)
We hope to have the pleasure of accompanying and supporting you in the completion of your projects this year. May it bring you success and good vibes! ✨
